Families are being warned not to call 999 for trivial matters - for instance, if your child won't get in the bath. Avon and Somerset police were called on Sunday, February 5 by parents who just couldn't get their seven-year-old into the water. Those with kids know just how frustrating bath time can be - but it should not be a police matter. This was just one of a series of ridiculous calls made to the local force.Please dont call 999 to tell us your 7 year-old son wont get in the bath....

The police force in the Bath region has been told it needs to improve how it records crime - as 13,700 reports of crime go unrecorded each year.
