A 25-year-old from Bath will appear in court charged with rape.
Teon Jamal Ballans, of Longmead Terrace, will appear at Bath Magistrates' Court on Wednesday morning.
Bath Police confirmed that Ballans, who was arrested earlier this week, had been charged with two counts of rape and possession of an offensive weapon.
The charges relate to a sexual assault on a 17-year-old girl, which took place in the Lower Bristol Road area of the city at about 6.30am on Sunday morning.
